Biopics on Indian cricket legends—Sachin Tendulkar, Mohammad Azharuddin and Mahendra Singh Dhoni — are ready to hit theatres in coming months. Meanwhile, Telegu actor Sudheer Babu, who is making his Bollywood debut with Sabbir Khan’s Baaghi, is working on his physical shape for an upcoming a biopic on badminton coach Pullela Gopichand.
Ace badminton player Pullela Gopichand — the second Indian after Prakash Padukone to win the All England Open Bdminton Championship — is currently the chief national coach for the Indian badminton team.
Sudheer Babu, who was also a professional badminton player before he became an actor, knows that biopics are doing well in the Hindi film industry.
“I think biopic works well here also, so I will try to make it in both Telegu and Hindi simultaneously,” Babu told Firstpost in an interview.
He chose not to divulge any details related to cast and story so ahead of time.
“Right now I can’t discuss anything about the preparation for it,” he said.
In recent times, we have seen that an actor turning into a producer is a natural progression, but Babu feels he would need more time to get into that space as he is still not as confident yet.
“Production is a different ball game. Let's see after few years, if I have knowledge and experience in the field, I will get into it,” he said.
