Mumbai: The muhurat of the much-awaited Bollywood wedding of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor remains elusive with the actor revealing that the marriage is postponed to the year-end and not going to happen in London
contrary to the buzz about the change in the venue.
Earlier, Saif's mother Sharmila Tagore had said that her son would tie knot with Kareena on 16 October at Pataudi Palace in Pataudi village.
However, in an exclusive chat with PTI, the 41-year-old actor said that the event was not immediately round the corner as being reported.
"I have not fixed a date for the wedding yet," Saif said.
When asked if the wedding will be solemnised as per Hindu rituals or a traditional nikaah, Saif said, "It is a very private thing... I don't want to talk about it".
Dismissing the buzz that the ceremony will not take place in India and the venue may be shifted to London, Saif said, "The wedding is not happening in London for sure. Rest all details about the wedding I can't talk as it is our private matter. It is personal".
Saifeena, as the celebrity pair is commonly referred to, have been dating for five years and are going strong. Amid numerous speculations and theories on the timing of their marriage, the couple had gone on record saying they
would enter the wedlock at the beginning of this year after the release of Agent Vinod but that did not happen.
Then came another report that they were getting hitched sometime between March-April, however, the exact date continued to be elusive.
Later in June, Sharmila confirmed that the wedding was taking place on 16 October.
Saif has two children, son Ibrahim and daughter Sara, from his first marriage with actress Amrita Singh in October 1991.
Kareena too was in a relationship with Shahid Kapoor before breaking of with him after three years.
In September last year, Saif's father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away, following which the actor formally assumed the title of 10th Nawab of Pataudi.
As of now, Saif is basking in the success of his recently released romcom Cocktail where he is seen romancing Deepika Padukone for the third time besides newbie actress Diana Penty.
Directed by Homi Adajania and produced under Saif Ali Khan's banner Illuminati Films, Cocktail hit the screens on 13 July. The film grossed approximately Rs 36 crore in the first three days of its release.
"I am very happy with the response the film has received. I did keep an eye on box office collection. I am happy that the film is doing well," the actor added.
