Raaz Reboot censored clip leaked online; Emraan Hashmi asks fans to watch film in theatres

The makers of Emraan Hashmi-starrer Raaz Reboot got a real scare when they heard that their film had leaked online late Tuesday. They thought they were the latest to become a victim of piracy.

The actor soon took to Twitter to request his fans to watch the film only in theatres and not the pirated copy.

He also expressed his distress over the leak in a heart rending post saying, "A lot of work goes into a film, whether good or bad. A lot of people toil away, striving to entertain you as well as run their kitchens. Piracy is a rampant problem, as we have seen over the past few months with a few movies that have been leaked online before their theatrical release."

#RaazRebootLeaked was even trending high on Twitter.

However after the makers downloaded the link, they realised that only a small clip from the film had been leaked online and not the full film. Incidentally its the same clip that the censor board had asked the filmmakers to cut out of the film for excessive usage of the word F**K .

"We felt the movie had got leaked. When we downloaded from the links, it turned out to be just one clip — of a possessed Kriti screaming the F-word multiple times in quick succession. We were relieved that the film hadn't got leaked," director Vikram Bhatt said to The Times of India.

This year many films like Great Grand Masti, Udta Punjab, Sultan and Kabali faced a similar situation, when the films were leaked online just few days prior to its release.

Produced by Vishesh Films the film will be releasing on Friday, 16 September.
