Priyanka Chopra's father cremated

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra’s father Ashok Chopra, who passed away Monday afternoon, was cremated Monday evening at Oshiwara crematorium. Many Bollywood celebrities - including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Karan Johar, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Punit Malhotra, Anurag Basu, Ramesh Taurani, Arjan Bajwa - attended the cremation. [caption id=“attachment_859355” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Courtesy: ibn live[/caption] The last rites of Ashok Chopra took place between 5.30 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. Hrithik Roshan and Shahid Kapoor reached Kokilaben Hospital after hearing of Ashok Chopra’s demise and were with Priyanka and her family when the body was taken to her residence. Ashok Chopra was admitted to hospital 17 days ago as he was undergoing cancer treatment for the past few years. He was at the terminal stage of the disease. Priyanka Chopra had cancelled all her shoots and was by his side for the past few days. Ashok Chopra, a doctor, had retired from the army in 1997 as a lieutenant colonel. He is survived by his wife Madhu, also a former army doctor, daughter Priyanka and son Siddharth. IANS
