After a long wait, Game of Thrones' sixth season got off to a flying start on 24 April.Old plot points were picked up once again, and new ones introduced, as the show runners — DB Weiss and David Benioff — readied once again, to take viewers on a trip abandon.
Now, as viewers wait for the second episode, we have a few images of major characters, hinting at what is to unfold.
The second episode of season six is titled "Home" — so will homecomings be the major theme we'll see?
HBO released a somewhat cryptic synopsis for the second episode: "Bran trains with the Three-Eyed Raven. In King's Landing, Jaime advises Tommen. Tyrion demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night's Watch stands behind Ser Allister Thorne. Ramsay Bolton proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy entertains other proposals".
This episode marks the first time the Greyjoys and Bran Stark have appeared on screen since season four.
In the meantime, the official synopsis for episode three has also been released. It is titled "Oathbreaker".
"Daenerys meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow. Arya trains to be No One. Varys finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift," the synopsis reads.
Fans have conjectured that Daenerys "meeting her future" sounds like she arrives at Vaes Dothrak while Bran "meeting the past" sounds like he learns to use his special sight.
There is also some speculation that in the third episode, we'll see the raid on the "Tower of Joy".
Incidentally, “Oathbreaker” is a strong word in Westeros, as breaking an oath is considered a crime. In the very first episode of the series, Ned Stark executed an oathbreaker who fled from the Night’s Watch.
Many also consider Jaime “The Kingslayer” Lannister an oathbreaker for turning on his king while a member of the Kingsguard. Game of Thrones Season 6 airs in India on Star World Premiere HD every Tuesday at 10 PM.
