It looks like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are still open to the idea of another reprising their roles as Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda for a Sex and the City revival.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred as Carrie Bradshaw in the iconic TV series, spoke to Press Association in an interview. “I think that remains an open question and discussion that will continue until it’s been resolved.”
The rest of iconic group hasn’t turned down the idea either. “I don’t think any of us have said no,” Parker said. The actress remains unsure whether the potential project would be “a series or movie.”
Things are looking optimistic though: “I think that’s always a possibility, definitely,” she noted. The group made their last appearance together in the 2012 SATC film, which was panned by critics and fans alike. Parker will now return to the screens to star in a new comedy, Divorce, which will premiere in the end of the year.
Earlier this year, Kim Cattrall (PR pundit Samantha Jones) had remarked that another SATC movie “could be fun.” and that “To say goodbye completely to Samantha would be pretty hard.”
It wouldn't be surprising if the series did get revived. Gilmore Girls, Fuller House and The X-Files are some of the memorable nineties series that are up for revival; and if the rumour mill is to be believed, Will & Grace might be next.
Anyone for catching up with Sex and the City next year?
