Naga Chaitanya-starrer Telugu romantic drama Premam, the eponymous remake of the 2015 Malayalam blockbuster, has released its trailer.
When films are remade into other languages, there is always a tendency to be compared with the original. The remake is expected to match up the original and in most cases they fall short of this expectation. It is the same with Premam too. The trailer looks beautiful and promises a lovely film, but only if it is not compared with the Malayalam version.
The soft background music by Gopi Sundar and Rajesh Murugeshan, further pull at your heartstrings.
The trailer hints at the storyline of the film, tracking three stages of romance with three different women in the life of its protagonist.
The three women's roles will be played by Anupama Parameswaran, Shruti Haasan and Madonna Sebastian.
The makers also released its music album to a great response on social media. Rajesh Murugeshan, had earlier composed the music for the Malayalam Premam, and it seems like they have copied much of the tunes for the remake from there.
The audio launch and trailer release was planned on 20 September to commemorate the birth anniversary of late actor and Chaitanya's grandfather, Nageswara Rao.
The original Premam made history by becoming the first Malayalam film to run for over 200 days in theatres in Tamil Nadu. The film raked in over Rs. 60 crore worldwide at the box office. Filmmakers are expecting a similar response for the Telugu remake.
Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film will have a Dussehra release hitting the screens on 7 October.
