MNS threatens to 'beat up' filmmakers who cast Pakistani artistes; Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt 'warned'

The Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena issued a fresh salvo in its move to boycott Pakistan artistes from working in India on Monday, 10 October.

The MNS asserted that they would not let the films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (which features Fawad Khan in a cameo) and Raees (which marks the Bollywood debut of Mahira Khan) release in India, or be screened in theatres.

The party also issued warning to filmmakers Karan Johar and Mahesh Bhatt to refrain from casting any Pakistani artistes in their projects.

The group further threatened to "beat up" any filmmaker who defied their diktat.

The MNS has been at the forefront of the anti-Pakistani artiste movement, going so far as to issue a 48-hour deadline to them to leave Indian soil, and staging protests outside Karan Johar's office, asking for Fawad Khan's parts to be deleted from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
