After winning fans over with her role as Harley Quinn in DC's Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie is in the talks of signing a first-look deal with the studio, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Though Suicide Squad raked in more than 700 million dollars so far at the box office, it was panned by critics and fans.
But Margot Robbie's performance as Joker's girlfriend Harley Quinn won her millions of fans and critical accolades. Warner Bros, happy with Robbie's popularity, has made sure that Robbie herself will be producing the next Harley Quinn films through her own production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.
She's joined by partners Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Sophia Kerr, says the report by The Hollywood Reporter.
The first film is a solo Harley Quinn spin-off, which will not only star Robbie but will also include her as an 'Executive Producer'. Even though she will star in the film, it won't be a solo project, as the film is rumored to include other villains and heroes from DC's vast stable of characters, including names like Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. In addition to this Robbie will also star in the an adaptation of Dean N. Jensen's Queen of the Air.
The Harley Quinn spin-off will tie in with films like Wonder Woman which hits theaters on 2 June, 2017, followed by Justice League on 17 November, 2017; Aquaman on 27 July, 2018.
