Actor Dhanush's next production venture featuring superstar Rajinikanth will reportedly be a sequel to Tamil action-drama Kabali, according to a well-placed source.
Dhanush, who is also Rajinikanth's son-in-law, made the announcement on Twitter.

The video attached with his tweet, indicates that the film will be recreating the Kabali magic as it will see Rajinikanth and Pa Ranjith collaboration again.
The actor-director duo gave us one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Within a week of its release, reports were suggesting that Kabali had crossed over Rs 600 crore at the box office, crossing even Sultan's global earnings.
"It's going to be Kabali 2. Dhanush has taken permission from producer Kalaipuli S Thanu to continue Kabali franchise with the second part. The project, however, will only materialise next year, after the release of 2.o in the summer," a source close to Dhanush told IANS.
Dhanush, known for producing films such as Kaaka Muttai and Visaaranai, will bankroll the project under Wunderbar Films.
Ranjith, according to the source, has already readied a one-liner of the script.
"He pitched the idea and Dhanush really liked it. So much so that, he agreed to produce the film. It will be an interesting take on the Kabali character, and will be presented in a new light," he said.
The confirmation has put to rest all the speculations on social media.

Rajinikanth is expected to start working on this project next year after he completes his shoot for Enthiran's sequel, 2.0 that also stars Akshay Kumar in a negative role.
It is left to be known whether Dhanush will also be playing a role in this film.
