After returning home from Pune’s Yerwada Jail last month, Sanjay Dutt seems to have developed an appreciation for the simpler things in life.
We saw this when the actor stepped out with his wife Manyata for a late-night meal at the swish Yauatcha restaurant in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex on Wednesday. While the couple drove up in their swanky Rolls Royce, after a few hours, Dutt emerged on the street, to smoke a cigarette. He was accompanied by a few other friends.
After about 20 minutes of chit-chatting, however, Dutt suddenly hopped into an autorickshaw that was parked nearby. His friends entreated him to wait for his own car, but Dutt was adamant and accompanied by one more friend, took off on a rickshaw ride.
The driver of the rickshaw was Abdul Hakim, a Kurla resident.
On reaching home, the meter showed a fare of Rs 146; Sanjay himself paid Rs 300 to Hakim, while his friend added another Rs 100. Then, the actor agreed to pose for a few photographs, traded a few of his “jaadoo ki jhappis” with the gathered shutterbugs, and went on his way.
