I’m so glad to be considered part of family in Gujarat: Aishwarya

by Dec 10, 2012

As the polls near in Gujarat, the state government received praise from an unexpected quarter. Aishwarya Rai praised the progress in Gujarat and said that she felt completely at home in the state.

“I’m familiar with the incredible progress. Gujarat has been going from strength to strength and the nation has been witnessing it,” Aishwarya said, while attending a promotional event.

The actress harped on the progress of the state, something that would definitely be appreciated by the Narendra Modi-led government just before the elections.

“I am so glad to be considered as part of family in this state and I feel totally at home. It has been a long-standing relationship and became even closer from my film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam,”  she said.

The actor’s endorsement for the state shouldn’t really come as a surprise, given father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan is already is a brand ambassador for Gujarat tourism.

And while she may feel at home in the state, the actor confessed she was not too comfortable with the language yet.

“I can even speak broken Gujarati but won’t dare to give a full answer in it!” Aishwarya said.
