I’m here to play long innings: Leander on Bollywood debut

Mumbai: Tennis player Leander Paes, who makes his Bollywood debut as an actor with “Rajdhani Express”, says he is here to play a long innings.

“India is ready for multi-talented people. I believe that, as an individual, my passion for being an actor, my passion for films, goes very deep. I am not here to do just one or two movies, I am here for the long run,” the 39-year-old said here in an interview.

“I am here on my journey as an actor to see how well I can do and how well I can entertain my fans away from the court of things,” Paes said.

He asserted he is not here “to be a celebrity, I have already got that from my tennis”.

Directed by Ashok Kohli, “Rajdhani Express” also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Sayali Bhagat and hits theatres Jan 4.
