Here’s a piece of news that will leave Varun Dhawan fans pleased. The actor is all set to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in a Yash Raj film, titled Dabba Gul.
DNA reports, “Bachchan Sr plays the head of the dabbawalas in Mumbai whereas Varun is an MBA topper and he decides to enrol for a two-month internship with the dabbawalas.”
According to the above report, Bachchan has already been signed on for the project. Dhawan, who is keen to be a part of the venture, is trying to squeeze dates out from his otherwise busy calendar.
The film will be directed by Pradeep Sarkar, who last helmed the Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani.
We hear, the story traces the relationship between Bachchan and Dhawan’s characters as the former teaches him the ropes of the business.
While it is a feel-good film, Dabba Gul touches upon the subject of dignity of labour and is believed to have humour on the lines of the Munna Bhai franchise.
If all goes well, this will be Bachchan’s first collaboration with Dhawan. The senior actor, however, has worked with his father David Dhawan in the past on two projects – Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Hum Kisise Kum Nahi.
