Calvin Harris kicked up a Twitter storm on Wednesday by going on a rant about ex girlfriend Taylor Swift.

32-year-old DJ began by praising Swift for her work on the track, tweeting, “And she sings on a little bit of it too…Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual.”

Taylor Swift's representative confirmed to TIME that the 26-year old star was the one who infact penned the Calvin Harris-Rihanna hit 'This is what you came for' that has been on the top of the charts all summer under the pseudonym 'Nils Sjoberg'.

This was not news to Harris, who we presume, was there when Swift wrote the song. But this started a series of tweets that Calvin Harris directed at his ex, who didn't waste moving on from him when she started her very public relationship with Tom Hiddleston last month.

Though initially he complimented Swift on being an amazing lyricist, he seemed a little bitter that Swift was stealing his spotlight. The twitter war escalated when Harris mentioned Katy Perry (Swift's ex-bff).

Here are the series of amusing tweets:

Harris concludes by appearing to address Swift directly, "Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you've earned a great one."

Taylor Swift is not a stranger to Twitter spats. Her heated exchange with Nicki Minaj made headlines in 2015.

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift were best friends until they had a falling out which caused Swift to pen the song 'Bad Blood' for her.

She however had the last laugh after she tweeted this GIF of Hilary Clinton after being referenced in Harris's twitter tirade. The gif also sums up our reaction to this news.
