Actress Anushka Sharma of Band Baaja Baraat fame, who was detained by customs officials at the Mumbai airport on return from Toronto, was let off at 12.30 am. Sharma was returning from the IIFA awards ceremony on Monday. She arrived in Mumbai via Air India flight no 187, which landed at 1.30 pm. Zayed Khan, Sonu Sood and Irrfan Khan who were on the same flight breezed out of the airport. Anushka is still inside, being questioned by the officials.
As Sharma’s valuables were evaluated and discussed inside the Mumbai airport, her parked SUV awaited her return. Meanwhile, Sharma’s staff — driver Zakir Sheikh and spot boy, Babush, grabbed a bite to eat outside, waiting for their boss. “Since I have come to pick madam up, we have been told she will be out in ten minutes, but she has not come out yet. It is been more than 6 hours now,” said Zakir, Sharma’s driver.
