“This a great feeling to know that Amitabhji really enjoyed the film. Such words of appreciation mean a lot to all of us. It really builds up our confidence. I hope people also enjoy the film,” Sridevi told reporters on Monday.

The film directed by Gauri Shinde, wife of adman and filmmaker R. Balki, sees Sridevi, 49, playing an Indian housewife in the US struggling to overcome the language barrier and identity issues. She sports a de-glam look in the film, which releases Friday.

The actress says she was so impressed by the narration that she readily agreed to be a part of it.

“All the characters, script of the film was so good that I never thought about my look. It is just a character that I am playing. It really touched my heart. As a mother and a woman, I could relate to the character. The day I read the script, I felt I have to do this,” said Sridevi.
