Amitabh Bachchan's 'Paa' child co-star dies in Nepal air crash

Child actor Taruni Sachdev, who starred in numerous  commercials and was last seen with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Paa, was among the 15 people killed in the plane crash that took place near the Jomsom Airport in Nepal.

CNN IBN reported that Taruni's mother, who was accompanying the 14-year-old actor, also died in the plane crash yesterday.

Taruni was last seen on screen in a cameo role with Amitabh Bachchan starrer Paa.

A fan first broke the news of her death to Bachchan over Twitter, which prompted the actor to reply, “Please do not say that this is true. I am so shaken. She was the most bright and beautiful little girl [sic].”

Big B later tweeted 'Just reading that Tarini Sachdev the girl child artist in Paa, has perished in Nepal plane crash .. please God may this not be true.'

Abhishek Bachchan also expressed shock at the untimely loss and he tweeted, "Shocked and very saddened to hear about the Nepal plane crash. Lost 1 of my cutest co-stars. Little Taruni Sachdev from Paa. Speechless....."

Besides the Hindi blockbuster, Taruni also featured in two Malayalam films, Vellinakshatram and Sathyam.Taruni had also acted in over 50 commercials including a Rasna ad with Karisma Kapoor.

Thirteen Indians died in the Nepal air crash on Monday. Local police officials said that the aircraft crashed while trying to land at the high altitude Jomsom Airport, which is a gateway to a popular tourist and pilgrimage destination.
