All roads led to the Bachchan residence, Jalsa in Juhu, earlier today, for mum-to-be Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan's grand baby shower thrown by Jaya Bachchan and sister-in-law, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda.

Shweta flew down especially from New Delhi to help her mother put the baby shower together. Though Aishwarya did not come out of the house to allay the jostling media and crowds gathered outside, husband Abhishek did come out for a spilt second for the mandatory wave and acknowledgement of good wishes.

Senior Bachchan is still filming The Great Gatsby in Sydney, and it seems like he is missing quite a few momentous occasions in the family of late — first the Karva Chauth ritual, and now the baby shower — due to the heavy schedule in Australia.

The baby shower was attended by virtually all the ladies in the film industry, and some from the older generation like Asha Parekh and Saroj Khan were shocked to see the crowds assembled outside Jalsa in anticipation of a glimpse of Aishwarya!

With all the good wishes from various generations of ladies, Baby Bachchan's arrival in November sure is blessed!
