New Delhi: Actor Randeep Hooda, who collapsed on the sets of Salman Khan-starrer Sultan on Sunday evening following a severe attack of appendicitis, was scheduled to undergo surgery at Fortis Hospital in the national capital on Monday.
"Randeep had been in acute pain for some time, but he is known for his professionalism so he ignored it to complete the shoot on time. Today (Monday) he will undergo surgery," said a source close to the actor.
According to the source, he was expected to be discharged on Tuesday.
Randeep plays Salman Khan's wrestling coach in Ali Abbas Zafar's upcoming film.
He also had another high profile release coming up, in the form of Omung Kumar's Sarbjit. For the film, Randeep had affected a startling physical transformation, losing over 18 kg in a very short period of time. This was to portray the emaciated frame of Sarabjit Singh after years of incarceration in a Pakistani jail.
Randeep has previously worked with Salman Khan in the blockbuster Kick. In the Sajid Nadiadwala directed thriller, Randeep had played a detective hot on the trail of "Devil" — Salman Khan's Robin Hood-eque character.
