Weekend is here and so is Salman Khan on Weekend Ka Vaar, and in an interesting development, one of the most entertaining contestants of the Bigg Boss house, Om Swami got ousted from the house this weekend. Shocked? Don't be as his elimination from the show has an interesting twist to it. Om Swami is not out of the show, but has been sent to a secret room from where he keeps track of everything that’s happening in the house through a television, and of course, listens to every conversation about him carefully. This is similar to what was done with former contestant Mandana Karimi last year.
After announcing that Lopamudra Raut, Manoj Punjabi, Manveer Gujjar and Bani Judge were safe from the upcoming eviction, the megastar kickstarts tonight’s episode with a performance to ‘Character Dheela Hai’. Farhan Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor, who are in the house to promote their upcoming film, Rock On 2, are joined by their co-stars Purab Kohli and Arjun Rampal and the four of them join Salman on the stage. They perform Live on their song, ‘You Know What I Mean’.
When asked about their visit, Shraddha and Farhan confessed to Salman that they found Om Swami to be the most entertaining person in the house. Salman also narrates to them about the fun time he had with Swami in the last few days. Salman further asks Shraddha to sing ‘Sun Raha Hai Na Tu’ with her eyes closed. And, just as she starts, Salman and Farhan tickle her with a feather just to make her laugh through the sad song. And, things get funnier as Farhan sings ‘Havan Karenge’ to the tunes of ‘Bheege Honth Tere’. Taking the entertainment quotient a notch higher, Salman plays a game with the Rock On 2 cast where they have to enact a dialogue related to an item that they pick from a box.
Once the celebrity guests leave the house, one finds the atmosphere tense with celebrities bitching about Bani and further Gaurav Chopra pulling up Mona for giving him the title of 'Kaminey' which he feels is not justified. Mona breaks down and Manu along with others immediately come to console her. Rahul Dev tries explaining to his close buddy Gaurav that making a woman cry may go against him. However, Mona later apologises to Gaurav, and Salman wants to steer clear of this controversy.
We wonder why? In fact, we also wonder that while Salman reprimanded all contestants who behaved inappropriately or got aggressive on the show, but persistent sexist comments of Om Swami and his terrible transgression during the luxury task by calling co-contestant Lokesh Kumari characterless, went unnoticed. We wonder why Salman is not taking a stand in these matters?
Salman again has some fun at Om Swami’s cost when he watches few unseen footage from the house where Om Swami is found telling Lokesh that he heads the Om Talent Bank where actresses like Hema Malini, Rekha and Karisma Kapoor learnt acting. Om Swami is also seen telling Gaurav that as a child he was very popular since he performed miracles and that’s what his biopic will be all about. Later, Salman pulls Om Swami’s leg over this and has a good laugh.
Further, Salman introduces the keechad task where two contestants are tied to a wall and answer some questions to reveal their true intentions. Rohan–Manveer and Manu–Karan face a volley of questions and their fellow contestants vote to highlight if their responses are acceptable or not. Further, in keeping with the unexpected twists and turns in that ensure that the contestants’ journey remains unpredictable, Salman introduces a brand-new concept to the contestants – an Immunity Medallion which will give one contestant the power to escape from two nominations of the contestant’s choice.
To teach the importance of Karma, Karmphal Data Shani, the lord of justice goes into the Bigg Boss house to advise the contestants. Shani speaks particularly to Gaurav, Lopamudra and Navin about their actions, and tells all the contestants that their future will be positive if they walk down the right path. After listening to Shani’s message, all the contestants question their perceptions of what’s right and what’s wrong.
Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed godman, who has been amusing viewers on the reality show with his antics -- be it stories about his life, dance steps or frolicking in the pool, is glued to the television set watching all the contestants. He gets emotional on seeing Manu, Manveer and Navin breaking down after he'd left the house, but subsequently when Manu is also seen criticising Om Swami’s behaviour in the house resulting into this eviction, latter hints at their 'double standards'. “They are upset with me because I exposed them on record as well as off the record, and truth is bitter,” tells Om Swami to Bigg Boss. So let’s hope for some more excitement in the coming weeks as sources suggest that Om Swami will make a comeback on the show.
