Unpopular decisions have to be taken. If it means the government in power has to gamble with its stability, so be it. Parties in power must eschew the temptation to ignore long-term interests of the country for short-term discomforts. If raising the price of petroleum product eases the massive oil subsidy burden on the economy then it is a risk worth taking. We have reached a point where we must reassess the concept of greater common good.
