Mercedes-Benz has showcased the G 500 4-4² at the 2016 Auto Expo. The gargantuan SUV is a mix-match of the G-Class and the G63 AMG 6x6. What the company has done, essentially, is used the all-wheel drive powertrain and the portal axles from the G63 AMG and used that to develop a new chassis upon which is the G-Class body. It stands 2.25 metres above the ground.
The Mercedes-Benz G 500 4-4² is powered by a 4-litre, V8 biturbo that produces 416PS and 610Nm. It features dampers that that have been derived from rally racing cars and feature adjustable damping. It takes a mere 15 milliseconds to switch between Sport and Comfort.
Sadly, this very capable SUV is only on display at Auto Expo 2016 and there are no plans to launch it in India.
